In November of 2016, California voters passed an amendment legalizing recreational use of marijuana in the state, making it one of eight states in the nation where recreational cannabis usage is legal. Marijuana-related real estate has had a foothold in Oakland for years, however. How will the new law change the relationships between cannabis proprietors, landowners and the city, and what concerns exist around the displacement of other land uses? Join us as we learn more about the local and state regulations around marijuana, and learn from the owner of a local, successful cannabis business about what it means to operate in Oakland.
