Bringing National Recognition to Santa Clara County

Lunchtime Forum

California is currently home to no National Heritage Areas (NHAs) — places recognized by the National Park Service where “historic, cultural and natural resources combine to form cohesive, nationally important landscapes” — but a team of local leaders is organizing a new initiative to convince Congress to declare Santa Clara County as the first NHA in the state. With its rich history, diverse population and natural beauty the county is ripe for acknowledgement. Come hear about what this initiative entails, what it means for the county and how you can help.
