Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond SPUR's control, this event has been canceled. We're working to reschedule it and will update this page and notify interested attendees when new information is available. We apologize for any inconvenience; please contact [email protected] with any questions.

From 2006 to 2013, artist Lauren Bon and her team transformed Los Angeles’ Spring Street underpass into a vibrantly creative space that served as a public square, ceremonial ground, art gallery, community garden and musical instrument. The award-winning book Under Spring explores the space’s unlikely history. Join the author for a discussion about how this model can be applied to urban spaces across the Bay Area.
