Secondary or “in-law” units are self-contained dwellings on the same lot as an existing residential building. These units distribute less-expensive housing throughout a community, expand the housing supply across a broader area and have minimal visual impact. Hear what the City of Santa Cruz, a pioneer in this housing type, can teach San Francisco. Co-presented with the SFAIA and the SFHAC.
