From the Palace to the Pier

Tour

The brainchild of Frank Oppenheimer, the Exploratorium has been introducing visitors to the wonders of participatory science since 1969. After 44 years of calling the Palace of Fine Arts home, the Exploratorium is moving to its new location at Pier 15. Planned to breathe new life into the pier’s existing historic structures, the new Exploratorium will lead the waterfront with a net-zero-energy LEED Gold facility. Join us for a walking tour of the brand new facility on Pier 15 and a look at how it will eventually expand to Pier 17.

This event is generously sponsored by Kaiser Permanente.
