Rethinking long streets as boulevards for transit and development is key to retrofitting suburbia. While the Grand Boulevard Initiative has earned praise as a collaboration among many cities along El Camino Real, the reality of shifting roadway space to transit has been too much for some cities. Kevin Connolly from the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority and Dena Belzer from Strategic Economics will discuss what can we learn about the potential to connect dense new development along this linear corridor with improved transit service.
