Since 1972, BART has been the Bay Area’s regional rail workhorse, transporting more than 365,000 passengers each day. Today, BART is in the midst of replacing its cars for the first time since the system opened, while also constructing a major extension to
San Jose. Join us as BART General Manager Grace Crunican addresses BART’s plans to acquire 775 new rail cars for an estimated $1.5 billion, the various BART extensions and a “BART metro” concept that seeks to increase service in the urban core.
