The Transit Sustainability Project

Lunchtime Forum

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission has launched a regional Transit Sustainability Project to create a more robust, financially viable transit system that is both cost-effective and customer-focused. The project will study service design and delivery, financial viability and decision-making structures while keeping in mind the role of external factors such as land use and transportation pricing—both critically important issues as the region prepares the Sustainable Communities Strategy required by SB 375, the land use portion of California's climate change law. With Carolyn Clevenger, Analyst with MTC.
