Shannon works to implement SPUR's comprehensive vision for a better future at San Francisco's Ocean Beach, to address sea level rise, protect infrastructure, restore coastal ecosystems and improve public access.
Prior to joining SPUR, Shannon worked in environmental consulting, habitat restoration, and watershed management. Her previous roles include Project Biologist at a small woman-owned environmental consulting company, Habitat Restoration Project Manager at the Napa County Resource Conservation District and Habitat Restoration Field Specialist at the Marin Municipal Water District.
Shannon has master’s degrees in city and regional planning and landscape architecture in environmental planning from the University of California, Berkeley and a bachelor’s degree in resource ecology and management from the University of Michigan. She has a particular interest in environmental regulation and urban open space management.
